When it comes to giving an event the wow factor, Drew Nicholls knows a thing or two, especially as he has access to more than 1,000 props.
The Prop Store was established this year as part of The PS Events Group, in Stratford-upon-Avon, which delivers world-class party and events production and creation management for clients across the globe.
Drew’s Aladdin’s Cave of props helps transform every type of occasion, creating infinite Instagram moments to help capture the magic of the occasion forever.
He said: “How many times do you go to an event and it's the same old room, the same venue, the same standard furniture, tablecloths and sometimes that is what it has to be. But what we can do is bring something extra, the weird and wonderful to the room. That is what props are about, they are about lifting what sometimes can be a very static and stagnant area and turning into an environment that you want to enjoy spending time in because you have taken the time to turn it into something fabulous!"
As well as the classic favourite props such as blossom arches, foliage walls and giant light-up letters, Drew prides himself on being able to deliver on any request, no matter how flamboyant.
“Maybe what you are looking for you didn't even know existed until you walked into our prop store,” he added. “We have an Aladdin's Cave of the most weird and wonderful prop items! You name it, we have it!
“I know how difficult it is to source items. I have spent hours looking on websites and when you find it, it's a bit of eureka moment. It's a nice feeling to be able to help someone put their mark on their event, being able to solve people's problems and to help their venue look special for their special day!”
Drew’s wife Lucy, is the brains behind parent company, The PS Events Group, established in 2019 to offer experience enhancement. At the height of a successful career as a performer in the West End, she took the brave decision to step out of the spotlight to act on her instinct – to become an entrepreneur.
It’s a business she admits has evolved from her time in the footlights. Driven by an all-consuming creative passion and armed with a little black book the envy of the rich and famous, she set about rewriting the second act of her career.
Not even a global pandemic could get in the way of Lucy’s ambitions and, thanks to her innovation, The PS Events Group not only survived, but thrived, while taking the concept of virtual experiences to innovative new levels.
Today, her client list includes some big-hitters and The PS Events Group is gearing up for its eighth year as the primary entertainment and theming/styling provider at Silverstone Grand Prix. (July 7th-9th)
She said: “We look at the journey of the guests from the moment they arrive to the moment they leave. I think of it a little bit like a soundtrack for the event. Imagine a film without any music. Watch it and then watch it again with music and see how you’ve been manipulated in your journey.
“We are obsessively passionate about brand, individual experience, the guests’ event journey and executing our events at the highest elite quality.”

Legal experts warn couples not to change wedding plans amid wedding law reforms
Proposed changes to 19th Century weddings laws could be about to change everything for couples, but one legal expert has urged wedding planners to hang fire before making any changes to their big day. Legal experts from The University of Law say: "While there have been various updates to wedding laws in recent years, such as legalising same-sex marriage and changing the legal age requirement for marriage, nothing has changed the laws that govern marriage to this extent since the 1800s. "The main thing couples need to know now, is that nothing is going to change in the immediate future. The reforms still need public consultation, then the usual Parliamentary processes before implementation, all of which could take many years.
